If you forge a +2 you get slightly over 1,000 gold, and a +3 sells for around 1,400. It's not a huge profit money wise, but it's good for the pearls. You get the recipe for the Fur Poncho from a quest, but I forget which one.

You only need to be 6570 to actually beat the final boss, but everything in act 3 is considered post game and the "true ending" since you technically beat the game in act 2. Do the other quests and what not.
